Following the successful rollout of phase one flat and flush kerbside EV charging points along 33 roads in Barnet, VolkerSmart Technologies has now commenced work on phase two. Works are being delivered on behalf of Trojan Energy.
Thanks to the businesses collaborative approach, during phase one VolkerSmart Technologies provided early contractor engagement with Trojan Energy to design a bespoke ‘jig’ to aid installation, providing a more efficient and safer installation process.
The business also worked with Trojan Energy during the electrical installation phase and suggested modifications to eliminate testing issues.
The kerbside EV charging points are a new design which sit flat and flush within the footway. This leaves footways entirely clear and fully accessible to other pavement users, when not in use. This is essential for wheelchair users, those pushing buggies or pedestrians with a visual impairment, as it significantly reduces collision hazards.
