VolkerSmart Techologies is managed by a team of individuals with extensive industry knowledge and experience.
Alistair Thompson, Managing Director
Alistair joined VolkerHighways in 2015, following more than 20 years leading major schemes and directing large multi-disciplinary teams with sister company, VolkerFitzpatrick. Alistair has over 30 years’ experience in the civil engineering industry and has extensive operational and commercial experience of the highways, airports and rail sectors. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, as well as a reviewer and a member of the CIHT.
David Easton, Operations Director, street lighting and VolkerSmart Technologies
David joined VolkerHighways in 2007. He has over 30 years’ experience in street lighting and has led our lighting team through a period of technical change, helping to secure our place as a leading street lighting service provider. David has also been instrumental in the development of our VolkerSmart Technologies business by building collaborative relationships with key technology providers.
Bob Pizzey, Business Development Director
Bob brings with him over 40 years’ experience in highways infrastructure, leading business development for our bid and technical teams, and supporting with the development of solutions for many of the national and regional government highways initiatives. He has responsibility for promoting improvements and development in UK highways maintenance and responding to industry needs for the sustainable communities of the future, with a focus on asset management and the customer journey.
Mike Hale, Business Development Manager
Mike has 15 years’ experience within the highways industry, building collaborative relationships with a range of clients. He is passionate about customer service and collaborates with our clients to jointly develop strategies for the design, build, connection, and maintenance of electric vehicle charge points.
