Signalling & Telecoms (S&T) provide cost-effective engineering solutions for railway signalling projects throughout the UK.
As a team we manage the full project life cycle and complete all aspects of design, project engineering, installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance support, across all signalling technologies, equipment and systems.
We also provide design, supply, install and test services for operational and lineside telecommunication renewals, either as a single discipline provider, or as part of multidisciplinary project, to ensure end-to-end connectivity. We also offer these capabilities for station information and security systems.
We are currently working on a number of contracts some examples of which include the S&T Framework for NW&C, SP&C Framework in Scotland, TransPennine Route upgrade (TRue) and Train Control System Framework (TCSF) for provision of ETCS.
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Lead- Telecoms to join our growing Telecoms Team.
As Telecoms Lead Engineer, you should be able to demonstrate extensive experience in a senior engineering role including staff management.
Extensive engineering knowledge of Telecoms Rail Systems, safety concepts and current relevant standards/ regulations are essential requirements for this role.
Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager Telecoms – you will be responsible for the day-to-day line management of the project engineering team as well assisting with recruitment, training, and development of the team. You will also deputise for departmental head as and when required.
You will support the Telecoms management with developing and maintaining effective relationships within and outside the business. This role requires excellent communication skills both verbally and written and the ability to represent the Company at industry and client forums.
About you
Key duties include leading major tenders, managing engineering procedures, solving complex technical design / engineering problems as well as supporting process improvements and working practices for the Telecoms organisation.
You should hold Professional registration with a lead industry institution, preferably holding or working towards Chartered Engineer status.
