We own and operate a wide range of specialist rail plant. Our teams work in collaboration with our clients on a broad variety of activities, from small installation projects through to large complex engineering schemes across the UK.
Our highly skilled people hold competencies to operate and maintain a variety of on track machines such as tampers and ballast regulators, through to Kirow cranes and RRV’s with specialist attachments.
We work with clients across main line railways, depots, overground mass transit networks and tramways, along with private sidings and heritage railways, delivering a variety of projects, including maintenance, overhead line installations, bridge installations and track renewals.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Assistant to join our busy and fast‑paced Plant Department. This is a great role for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and wants to play a key part in supporting our commercial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- To assist with entering purchase orders and associated documents into a Microsoft Excel based Order Book.
- To assist with ensuring all supplier invoices are accurately checked, goods are receipted, and payments are processed. Raise and resolve any queries promptly.
- To support with the completion of month end processes as required.
- To assist with plant off hires and liaise with suppliers and clients where necessary.
- To assist with other tasks as and when required.
About you
About You
You will be a proactive, self‑motivated individual with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Strong problem‑solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the confidence to build positive working relationships are essential.
Experience & Skills
Ideally, you will also bring:
- Previous experience in a similar commercial or administrative role.
- Confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
