Park and Charge Oxfordshire: EVCP

Oxfordshire

VolkerSmart Technologies delivered electric vehicle charge points (EVCP) across four districts in Oxfordshire, on behalf of renewable energy solutions specialist, EZ-Charge Ltd.

Following the project’s pilot installation of six units in Bicester in 2020, VolkerSmart Technologies installed the remaining 119 charge points in public car parks across Oxfordshire.

The scheme gives residents the ability to park overnight, with access to EVCP, who have no off-street parking.

This project highlights the business’ capability to provide a full turnkey solution through its in-house Independent Connections team. The works follow VolkerSmart Technologies’ successful delivery of fourteen EV charge points, as part of Oxford City Council and the University of Oxford’s ‘Go Ultra Low Oxford’ project.

  • 125 dual 22Kw EV charge points designed, manufactured, and installed across 20 public car parks in Oxfordshire
  • Installed associated electrical and civils infrastructure and DNO connections
  • Units situated across district council car parks in Cherwell Valley, South Oxfordshire, West Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse

"We are delighted to be partnering with VolkerSmart Technologies, to roll out this prestigious project throughout Oxfordshire. This project is three years in the making, and offers a unique charging experience, provided by the SMART EV chargers, manufactured in Bicester. We believe this will set the standard for other local authorities to follow."

Phil Shadbolt OBE, CEO of EZ-Charge Ltd
